- I bought a HP850C printer and I generally like it. The problemn was
- trying to use it under WordPerfect 4.1 (the family still use this
- program).
- It turned out that this specific model does not perform HMI commands
- correctly (Esc&k***H). The first character after an HMI command will use
- the standard 10cpi spacing instead. This ruins the spacing even in the
- non-proportional mode, as the Printer.Tst document will show.
- I have built a new driver using Esc*p***X commands, which works with some
- small restrictions (occasional incorrect right justification). If anyone
- is interested pleas email me.
-
- I tried to find a way of contacting HP about this, but there only seems
- to be phone support, at least in Europe. I prefer email, because it is
- easier to explain things. The WWW site says it will not accept email
- except on the WWW interface itself.) Anybody has a suggestion?
